Fire Risk Leads Health Canada's Five-Item Recall Day
Health Canada posted five consumer safety actions on November 5, three of them over fire risk. No injuries have been reported in Canada in any of the five notices.
1. The Baby Brezza Sterilizer Dryer
The Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer (model BRZ0083, UPC 886267008313) can overheat in use, posing fire and burn hazards.
The company reported 6,001 units sold in Canada (September 2023 to November 2026), with 20 reports of overheating and melting and no injuries in Canada. Stop using it and contact EI Brand Management Inc. for a free replacement.
2. The Bose S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ Battery Packs
The Bose S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ battery packs can pose fire and burn hazards as their lithium-ion cells age.
A total of 35,399 units were sold in Canada. Check your serial number against the notice, remove the pack, and contact Bose for a replacement. No incidents or injuries in Canada.
3. The NEWDERY Power Banks
The NEWDERY power banks (model ZHX-PB22), sold on Amazon.ca from June to November 2024, can explode or ignite.
Only 962 units were sold in Canada, with no incidents or injuries. Buyers have already been refunded through Amazon.ca. Stop using it.
4. The Leakbee Carbon Monoxide Detector
The Leakbee carbon monoxide detector (model YC302), sold January to May 2026, has no Canadian certification mark and may inaccurately detect carbon monoxide.
A total of 856 units were sold in Canada. The one Canadian report was of an inaccurate reading; no injuries. Stop using it and contact Yizhoukeji for a refund.
5. The AliExpress Baby Walkers
Health Canada expanded its alert on baby walkers previously sold on AliExpress.
Walkers are banned in Canada; only 3 units were sold here, the sellers were unresponsive, and owners should dispose of them so they cannot be used again.
The Twikup Take
The risk here is the everyday device you never thought to check. The checks take two minutes: models BRZ0083, ZHX-PB22 and YC302, plus the Bose serial list. If one is in your home, stop using it and use the remedy already arranged.
