A Woman Was Injured. Four Days Later, a Café Was Shot At.
Two men are in custody facing firearms charges over a pair of Surrey shootings from October 2025 that B.C.'s extortion task force spent a year investigating.
Two shootings, four days apart
On October 12, 2025, shots were fired at a home in the 13000-block of 103A Avenue in Surrey, injuring a woman.
Four days later, on October 16, 2025, shots were fired at a café in the 8400-block of 120 Street. The business was closed at the time; two employees inside were not injured.
A year of investigation leads to two arrests
The BC Provincial Extortion Task Force took over both investigations after identifying potential links between the incidents.
On November 1, 2026, task force investigators, working with CFSEU-BC and the Surrey Police Service, arrested two men in Surrey. The BC Prosecution Service has approved charges against Pardeep Singh, 22, and Saveer Khan, 22 — each faces one count of reckless discharge of a firearm for the October 12 shooting and one count for the October 16 shooting. Both men remain in custody.
The charges followed extensive investigative work conducted over the past year, including multiple judicial authorizations, search warrants, and detailed analysis of evidence, said Chief Superintendent Duncan Pound, the RCMP's Lower Mainland District operations officer.
The task force has now secured 28 charges
The task force was established in September 2025 and is led by the BC RCMP, with members from Abbotsford Police, CFSEU-BC, Delta Police, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, Surrey Police Service and the Canada Border Services Agency. With these arrests, it has now secured 28 charges against 14 individuals, alongside its support for Langley RCMP's E-PURSUANCE project targeting extortion.
The charges have not been proven in court.
The Twikup Take
Extortion shootings terrified Surrey's business community through 2025, and cases like this are why the province built a dedicated task force. A year of warrants and evidence work produced two arrests — slow by headline standards, but this is what it takes to make charges stick.
