Canada Enters Second Round Undefeated
Canada finished the first round with a 6-0 record.
The team earned home-and-away victories against Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Jamaica, finishing first in Group B.
Canada closed the opening round with two decisive victories in Hamilton, defeating Puerto Rico 110-84 before beating Jamaica 116-78 during the July qualifying window.
Canada is now one of only two undefeated teams remaining in the Americas qualifiers, alongside Brazil.
Canada Begins Second Round Against Panama
Canada's first game of Window 4 will be against Panama on Thursday, August 27.
The game will take place at Arena Roberto Durán in Panama City.
The scheduled tip-off is 9:40 p.m. ET.
Canada will then return home for its second game of the window.
Argentina Comes to Quebec City
Canada will host Argentina on Monday, August 31, at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7:10 p.m. ET.
The matchup will be Canada's first home game of the second round and will be broadcast nationally on TSN and RDS.
What Is at Stake for Canada?
Window 4 marks the beginning of the second round of the FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers.
The 12 teams that advanced from the first round have been divided into two groups of six.
Canada is now in Group F alongside Argentina, the Bahamas, Panama, Puerto Rico and Uruguay.
Canada will carry its six first-round results into the new group.
The team will not play the Bahamas or Puerto Rico again during the second round. Instead, Canada will face Argentina, Panama and Uruguay at home and on the road over the final three qualifying windows.
How Can Canada Qualify for the 2027 World Cup?
The Americas qualification process features 16 national teams competing across six windows over a 15-month period, from November 2025 through February 2027.
At the end of the second round, the top three teams in each group will qualify for the FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup 2027.
The best fourth-place team across the two groups will also earn a place at the tournament.
Seven teams from the Americas will ultimately qualify for the World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from August 27 to September 12, 2027.
