A Bank Robbery on Innes Road, and a Getaway on a Suzuki
Ottawa police are asking for the public's help identifying a bank robbery suspect — from a robbery that happened two weeks ago, on October 22.
At about 10:45 a.m. that day, a man entered a bank in the 3000 block of Innes Road, wielding a weapon, and demanded cash from a teller. Staff complied, and the man fled with an undisclosed amount of money — on a newer-model Suzuki motorcycle.
The police release, published November 5, includes a suspect identification photo.
Who Police Are Looking For
The suspect is described as a white man with a slim build. He was wearing a black hoodie, a face mask and glasses, a motorcycle helmet, black gloves, and black shoes with white trim.
Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116.
The Twikup Take
A mid-morning bank robbery with a motorcycle getaway is bold, and bold usually means identifiable — a distinctive bike, a helmet and a released photo give this appeal more to work with than most. Two weeks on, the photo is the investigation's best lever, and it only works if it circulates.
